3-10-16 Inaho Sankaku Market 047-0032, Otaru
There is a municipal parking nearby. Discounted tickets will be issued depending on the amount purchased on the market
I think so, but not certainly sure.
There are places that can be used and places that cannot be used!
It's okay Take it home in front of the station I can You can also send it.
If you buy the same item at a bad souvenir shop, this one is safe, is not it?
You can enter from 6 o'clock, but there are stores that are open and stores that are not. I think it's better to search for the desired store.
Good for experiences. You can see the real King crab and many of ceab then can order. Many of sushi bowl shop to eat. All fresh. Price a bit high. Must try.
The market is amazing! Full of fresh seafood. The king crab here cannot be missed and choose your crab live. Although its a bit pricey, it was freshest crab i have ever had.
The alley is extremely narrow, better times to be there will be after lunch hours. All the shops are packed, but they will to their best to accommodate. Seafood is fresh and prices is reasonable. I prefer to have seafood here rather then sapporo town. Its better to eat cooked seafood here, sushi and sashimi is available but not at its best. You choose your seafood and they will cook it for you.
Great fresh food available here.
Plenty of local seafood to see and eat at good, prices!
To get to this market from Sapporo you get the JR train to Otaru and then it is a 5 minute walk from the station. The market is small and you can look at the seafood offered and the sellers try to entice you into their shop so that they can cook the meal for you. All shops were full so you had to out your name down on a list and you might get called after 15 minutes for an opening at a table so that you can enjoy what you have picked. There is a menu also so you can choose from the menu what looks good for you. We had oysters, herring ,snow crab that was boiled and then another one was cooked. All food here is delicious and it is also enjoyable. You do not get rushed instead you get to take your time.
Incredible amounts and varieties of seafood. Lots of restaurants available serving fresh seafood at quite reasonable prices
Fresh seafood bowls! Very tasty and reasonable prices!!Sankaku market might not be big in size but packs with quality seafood, everything you ordered here are guaranteed to be very fresh and tasty!!We’ve order many dishes and the total price is still relatively low! I’m talking about giant spider crabs and Sea urchin here, not your normal fish bowl. The market was not too crowded during our visit but recommend to go before or after lunch to avoide longer queue time!
Great fresh seafood. Had lunch with family. An interesting place for an Australian to visit. The food was also very good value.
Difficult to find but please try to! its an authentic atmosphere, good cheap food and perfect to buy souvenirs. (dried scallops)
Seafood so nice! You must try! And quite cheap!
good food but a bit tourist focused
Very small quaint seafood market practically right next to Otaru Station. Inside are many stores selling seafood, fresh to dried. A lot of live shellfish like crab, scallops, and abalone. Most of the shops also have a restaurant and kitchen in the back where you can get your favourite Donburi or create your own kaisendon. From what I can tell, you cannot go wrong with any of the restaurants in there - they all have their fresh produce right out front.
Fresh seafood with plenty of options to dine on. Crab and sea urchin are a local specialty.
Lovely small alley filled with local seafood, both wholesale and restaurants.Unfortunately it is very crowded with tourists, but this is not the fault of the place.Still do strongly recommend as I personally feel it is the best seafood market in Otaru. There are some good deals in the market too if you look hard enough. I got some dried squids at only 600 yen, whereas in other shops and even in other cities, they were a 1000 yen per pack. It was a fun and intimate experience.
Love this market! Cozy and lots of seafood
Very short street where all stalls offered essentially the same thing. Seafood quality is good for its price.
Amazing fish market in Hokkaido. If you want some of the freshest fish in the world, go here, though lines may hamper you.
Fun place to see. Lots of different seafood and crabs. Choose what you want from the market and the resto right beside it will cook it for you. A bit pricey but some of the freshest in the area
My favorite fish market experience of all time. We had wonderful fresh fish bowl market here. Not sure the name of this store but pretty crowded with local. Such great price and amazing food.
Just to the left when you come out of Otaru Station. You'll see the signs for it and it's a quick flight of stairs up. The market is small and you can complete the narrow path in less than 5 minutes. Alongside there are seafood vendors who can cook up what you order. Additionally there are restaurants behind some of the stalls. You really need to come here early because all the places fill up quickly. Some of the restaurants waits are over an hour. If you're looking for the seafood or uni dons, there's place at the end on the left side that does them just as good. And of course, draft Sapporo Classic beer to wash it all down.
Check the photo to find out the restaurant in the sankaku market. You can order rice bowl set there and extra sashimi if you want. they provide fresh seafood as well. For example the king crab price at 240usd for 2.4kg approx. You may take the bargain if you try to. Anyway, definitely delicious and worthy. Remember to come as early as you can. Queue may be long here.
Our new favorite restaurant for breakfast! Seafood is fresh, Price is good, Nice cozy atmosphere, Staff is friendly.
Quality seafood and customizable options. For the raw food lover! There's also grilled options available. Filled with 50% tourists and 50% locals. Friendly staff and good food. Pretty small area
Touristy but I enjoyed my sashimi lunch.
Great place for superb seafood. Not to be missed.
Don't know the name of this store. It is the one at the furthest end of Sankaku Market away from Otaru Station. Soooo slow to get seated because there is only 1 waiter and the group of girls in front of us couldn't decide what to eat so he was held up. But the food here is delicious. Sea urchin was absolutely divine! I had the medium-sized don (bowl) with sea urchin, crabmeat and salmonroe 2,500Â¥. Husband had the medium-sized salmon oyako don 2,000Â¥. Oyako is parent and child - salmon being the parent and the salmon roe the child. His salmon was so delicious too! No need for soy sauce because there is already some sort of sauce on the rice. Mix the rice with seaweed strips and roe, and it is so salty and savoury.
We had lunch of all grilled seafood at the market area and it was the most satisfying meal. Considering the size and the variety of seafood that we ordered, the price is reasonably cheap. The grilled squid, herring fish, salmon cuts and the tentacles were just fresh and sweet. We even made a second order of the same dishes.
Nice place to eat sashimi and sushi.
Great fresh seafood selection in the market. Please be wary of the long waiting time for good restaurants and non responsive waitressing from restaurants that are empty!
The market is not big, but many Sashimi restaurants inside.
A 50m indoor market Street. Pricey compared to Hakodate. Only seafood... And donburi.Spend 20mins only.
Tiny market with a couple of decent bowl shops but overall prices are abit on the high side and clearly targeted more towards tourists. There are several other fish markets in Otaru that are more catered towards locals and also very worth visiting.
Fresh and delicious seafood with reasonable price.
Lovely . A must visit . Fresh seafood n u can get the various Japanese snacks here
Small and cosy market which can be completed in 5-10 minutes. King crabs were great value for money.. sushi/sashimi were so-so
Many live seafood. You can pick and have it on the spot. Any kaisendon place should be equally worthy with the fast moving crowd.
Love the food here. Some of the bowls are above average price, but you are paying for market freshness. The place can get crowded with tourists. Paid parking available just nearby or in front of Otaru Station.
Pretty small seafood market but definitely had some tasty food. I didn't think the food was all that inexpensive but it was definitely worth it. A few restaurants have all very similar menu and focused on seafood bowls, make sure to find the bowl with your favorite toppings!
A very popular market selling freshest catches from the sea and prices are reasonable. They will cook whatever you choose and serves you the freshest. Taste is great and had a king crab which is 2.4kg and costs about usd250 for the whole crab. It was all done well and served in a very presentable manner. Should visit and taste their food.
Small but decent market to have your seafood meal. They cater to Muslim too and will provide halal soy sauce. The boiled crab was sweet and meaty.
Greatplaceto enjoy fresh seafood. One kaisendon costs about 1500-3000 depending on your seafood of choice. It’s a small market.
A bit small compared to other japanese markets, but goods are fresh nonetheless.
A very tiny fish market, literally only a lane with everything you want for fresh and dried seafood. They’re all reasonably priced. I even received postcards and small gifts as appreciation as I bought dried scallops here! There’re queues for marvellous seafood restaurants! Make sure you come early to avoid overcrowding
Probably the best seafood I have ever eaten!! The market has a wide variety of live seafood to choose from. We ended up having our lunch there and it was one of the best meals in Japan. They would ask you to go to the nearby stall to choose your seafood, and they'll help you to cook (boil/BBQ) it. People there are not as intimidating as they seem!! Definitely worth a shot!! The market may look small and a little shabby, but the seafood is 10/10
A lot of fresh seafood there. I ate a 2.3kg hokkaido king crab at ¥23,000. Half is boiled and half is BBQ. Nice!
A very busy and bustling market selling all kinds of seafood. Live crabs, prawns, lobster are available. There are also lots of dried fish, octopus and all sea animals you can think of to buy back for your more adventurous family and friends. Not many speak English, but the pictures of what you are about to buy or to eat are shown. There are also lots of restaurants here offering similar dishes.
For those who like seafoods, especially crab, scallop and prawns. You should come here and taste it. A bit expensive but how many time will you visit here.
